The new Windows 8 might be tricky at start mostly because of the new Metro interface, but after a few days of using it, I found some interesting ‘secrets’ or tips, wich can make your life easier.
1. Secret start menu
The first big change you might notice is the Start menu, wich has completely gone (I’m referring at the actuall button and functions from it), yet you can still access a sort of commands found on the old Start menu – to open it, go to the left bottom corner, and right click it, a new dialog box will appear with some usefull commands like command prompt or run like in the following picture:
2. Windows 8 screenshot shortcut
The new Windows brings a long waited feature, automatically screenshot save, currently in Windows 7, to save a picture you must first press the PrtSc button and after you must go to a picture editor and paste the picture from keyboard, save and then you can use it, not anymore! In Windows 8, the Win+PrtSc key combination automatically save your screenshots into the Pictures folder, like this:
3. Mouting Images in Windows 8
In Windows 7 and all other windows to mount an image you need a 3rd party software, like Power ISO or whatever, in Windows 8 you have a built in mounter, to mount an iso image in Windows 8 simply right click the .iSO file and then chose Mount option as in the bellow picture, and that’s it!
I hope these small secrets will help you with the new Windows .
