It seems Microsoft won’t offer an upgrade from Windows Phone 7.x to Windows Phone 8, instead they will provide a big update to Windows Phone, called Windows Phone 7.8 which will offer one of the biggest change: Custom tile sizes for the Start Menu, and more stuff to come, here is an image with different phones running on Windows Phone 7.8, Lumia series will include this update too.
